Features of QlikView
01
Data Association is maintained automatically
QlikView automatically recognizes the relationship between each piece of data that is present in a dataset. Users need not preconfigure the relationship between different data entities.
02
Data is held in memory for multiple users, for a super-fast user experience
The structure, data and calculations of a report are all held in the memory (RAM) of the server.
03
Aggregations are calculated on the fly as needed
As the data is held in memory, calculations are done on the fly. No need for storing pre-calculated aggregate values.
04
Data is compressed to 10% of its original size
QlikView heavily uses a data dictionary. Only essential bits of data in memory are required for any analysis. Hence, it compresses the original data to a very small size.
05
Visual relationship using colors
The relationship between data is not shown by arrow or lines but by colors. Selecting a piece of data gives specific colors to the related data and another color to unrelated data.
06
Direct and Indirect searches
Instead of giving the direct value a user is looking for, they can input some related data and get the exact result because of the data association. Of course, they can also search for a value directly.
QlikView Architecture
The front end of QlikView is a browser based access point containing QlikView Server. which is mainly used by the Business users to access the already created BI reports through an internet or intranet URL. The server manages the client server communication between the user and QlikView backend system.
The QlikView backend consists of QlikView desktop and QlikView publisher. The QlikView desktop is a wizard-driven Windows environment, which has the features to load and transform data from its source. The QlikView publisher is used as a distribution service to distribute the desktop extension of the file .qvw documents among various QlikView servers and users.

QlikView Integration with SAP ERP
Systems
The QlikSAP NetWeaver Connector lets you efficiently load data into QlikView app from SAP NetWeaver. The information may be stored in a number of different repositories within the SAP architecture, such as SAP BI/BW, an SAP ERP, or CRM system.
You must have a SAP NetWeaver account with current access credentials. Once a connection to a SAP NetWeaver account has been created, data can be selected from tables available to the user’s account. The data you select is then loaded into an app where it can be used in visualizations.
Currently, the SAP connectors available for QlikView are:
- SAP BAPI Connector
- SAP BEx Connector
- SAP DSO Connector
- SAP Extractor Connector
- SAP InfoProvider Connector
